The Revit Revolution

We are pleased to announce that Level Architecture has rolled out Revit as a modelling platform across the practice. Autodesk Revit is a software platform aimed at increasing efficiency and coordination during the design and build stages of any project.
Unlike traditional 2D based drawing platforms, Revit allows us to create an information rich 3D model of any design. This model allows for the quick, accurate and always up to date production of drawings and schedules. It also allows for the easy visualisation of our projects thereby improving efficiency at design stage for both ourselves and our clients.

Traditional 2D draughting platforms have served the industry well in the past but are now outdated. Revit and similar platforms are now the leading edge of design software. A Revit model is a live, smart object whereby any changes made to a design are automatically picked up in all our information. For example, if a window was to be removed from a design it would automatically be removed from all plans, elevations, visuals and schedules. This contrasts greatly with traditional CAD methods which would require each individual drawing and schedule to be updated manually. This one example highlights the greater efficiency and accuracy afforded by Revit.

As Revit is fast becoming an industry standard platform among other design consultants and engineers, the adoption of Revit greatly improves the design team’s ability to deliver a coordinated and clash detected design prior to construction. For Level Architecture this gives us the ability to better interrogate how our designs relate to input from other design consultants, and for our clients this offers them confidence that a project has been fully coordinated, with any potential clashes captured and resolved early.
